Walk 1:10:00 [1]
weight:79.3kg

Walking a slightly longer version of my usual route Downtown for some fika/croissant. Time enough to watch the Womens 10km World Cup ski race from Falun before going to the biathlon.

Walk 30:00 [1]

To/from the first part of todays´ biathlon - the Womens Mass Start where Hanna Öberg once again finished 4th - just outside the podium.
Had enough time to go back to the apartment for some lunch and watch the Mens 15 km XC race from Falun before going back to the ski stadium.

Walk 30:00 [1]

To/from the ski stadium for the final competition of the Championships. The Mens Mass Start turned into a relatively normal race between some of the usual favourites until the last standing shooting. The weather was bad throughout the race but particularly so - with heavy snow and wind gusts - when the leaders came into the final shooting. Then everything was turned up-side down and the first ten racers missed between 3 and 5 targets to let Dominik Windisch who came in as #11 get away in the lead after a clean shooting and cruise to the Gold. World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bö missed all five shots!!

Walk 30:00 [1]
weight:79.4kg

To/from the ski stadium for the Relay races.
Silver for the Women behind Norway after leading into the last standing shooting. Exciting as always.
Between the races - a 2½ hour gap - I found a TV in one of the sponsor tents (actually the Sami cultural tent) and watched XC World Cup Sprint Finals from Falun.
The Men ended up in 7th Place after a close finish with France that Sebastian S lost too Martin F after breaking a ski pole.

In the morning I drove Jonas C to a sports store to get a pair of warm boots before continuing to drop him off for his pre-runner duties.

Easy skiing today. Had planned to go longer but bailed and took the turn I missed last time instead of going down the hill. Warmer today, just below zero, and fast tracks in the hard packed new snow. Decent but not perfect grip, three-four layers of Skigo Purple.

Walk 15:00 [1]

To/from the ski tracks.
3 PM

Walk 40:00 [1]

No races today but I walked to the ski stadium to buy a few things in one of the sports shops there. Also saw (and heard) the official training at the shooting range.
On the way back I took a longer route to get some groceries at ICA.

Walk 1:00:00 [1]
weight:79.2kg

Walking downtown for fika and semla at Törners before todays late start for the biathlon.

Walk 30:00 [1]

To/from the ski stadium.
Today was another exciting and successful race in the Single Mix Relay where Hanna and Sebastian managed to win a bronze medal behind Norway and Italy.
After the regular race and flower ceremony there was also a Charity Race with several past biathlon stars like Magdalena Forsberg, Anna Carin Zidek, Uschi Disl, Sven Fischer and Liv Grete Skjelbreid.

Walk 30:00 [1]
weight:79.3kg

To/from the ski stadium for another day of biathlon. Today was tough for the biathletes with a constant snowfall and heavy wind. Sebastian Samuelsson did great and managed to come around with only one missed shot in the Mens Distance race.
He added another fourth place to the Swedish "close but no cigar" account for these championships.

Walk 30:00 [1]
weight:78.8kg

To/from the ski stadium where Sweden finally got a GOLD medal. Hanna Öberg won the Womens Distance race with full shooting and defended her Olympic gold. Great performances also by Mona Brorsson in 6th, Linn Persson 15th and Emma Nilsson 22nd.

Walking downtown Östersund and back on a wonderful winters day with blue skies and warming sun. Had some lunch/fika at Hamngatan 12 and did some light shopping too. Ready for tomorrow and more biathlon!
