Long hike with the group from Falun. We visited an active charcoal burning site and also a number of cairns denoting the boundary for The Falu Copper Mines' rights to all fire wood and charcoal available in that area.
This boundary was drawn and also marked in the terrain in a
circle with 10km radius beginning at the mine. All this was done in the years 1752-1754 with the means and precision available to land-surveyors in those days.
We were out for a total of 3:45h but with several stops the actual time moving was 1:17h less. Snow still on the ground from the snowfalls the last few days but now wet and possibly disappearing within a few days - due to rain starting later in the afternoon - but the weather was fine while we were out even if it was a bit grey and misty.
