So had a sore throat and sore knees...
Have had a bad 2 weeks of 6 x Xmas party and putting on about 3kg...
but new i felt fitter and faster post sydney... time to test it out even though not in ideal form. 5km Loop near my house.
Admit felt very average when I started and course had slightly more headwind that tail wind but relatively balanced.
Did find I was critiquing myself as I ran my right leg felt like it wasn't landing straight infact the strike felt very strange - maybe thats why that knee is getting sore... also gosh I am lazy not lifting knees or having any kick. but I was moving well and I could tell I was faster than normal.
To my amazement it was the fastest running time I have had since getting my garmin (over 2 yrs ago) on any course. clocking in at a pace of 5:13/km when previously best clocked on garmin was 5:53/km - happy days.
I know on a different 5km course non-logged ive run sub 5 which is when I know I am really getting back on my game... tbh I felt the fitness was there the technique and a slight bit of strength wasnt - hopefully the xmas tripa way doesnt set me back feeling good on the improve. wanting 4:45..
