Took Pollys bf James around the course today as his a first timer and wanted to learn how it works.
1) Setoff to #1 I started overshooting it still in rogaine scale mode - I knew we were close but not as close as we were and James pointed out its just there . oh dear great start. haha
2) Came east out of 1 crossed the fence and followed train track until the junction then went to fence. accross the feild until the slight bend, track around toward the corner a bit the went off towards two, hit the path and then followed it to the fence and boom point to the left.
3) saw it on way to 2 easy as.
4) Pretty much followed the course line directly (I think - JG will prove otherwise) until the track, then took that down to point 15 and turned up the hill there.
5) Straight down over the oval along train track took a left and the junction and bang on.
6) Back to the road and followed the road along then the fence threw me for a moment at the end of the loop kept going though and saw the bush clearly and got it flush.
7) Gave James the option, go crazy and go straight at it or use the track, he wanted some fun so we went for the swamp. Simmo had said it likely dried out. I can confirm it hasn't and was tricky to negotiate - and there was a lot of spiders out there. After drenching my shoes in the foulest mud I have encountered this year I managed to get out and straight away twist the ankle i did about 6 weeks again. pushed on but very sore now.
