Rogaining (Final Control Setting) 6:37:01 [3] 19.01 km (20:53 / km) +1523m 14:55 / km
ahr:133 max:166 shoes: Brooks Glycerin 12
Did whole way without compass - was quite chuffed at that - weather was nice until thunder/lightning etc rolled through and made me soggy as.
fell over a few times :( and saw some cool creatures out there today.

A very large ant (2cm long) managed to get onto my left bicep on the inside. I found this out from a massively sharp pain which came about as it managed to bite me through my kathmandu t-shirt. I flicked it off - it may or may not have survived - but the damage was done - I still have a welt bigger than a thumb print where it got me - it was ouchies.

Dave and Paul nicely hung back until I finished which was a nice surprise at the end of a long slog.
oh and shopping bags suck - myers bags are way better!

Oh and I call bs on elevation haha.

Mountain Biking race (Bayswater MTBO) 34:07 [4] 10.73 km (18.9 kph) +144m
ahr:169 max:180 spiked:26/26c shoes: Giro Privateer
So fun start to the day - flat car battery for no reason and a flat new tyre on bike - solved both issues and made it to the start with 1 min to spare luckily delayed by 15 mins.
Got stuck in massive Q at 122 (first western control)
Then missed 107 (accidentally), got 106 came back grabbed 107 went up to 128 felt my mistake was good now, 123,
illegal down the shared bridge path oops! 105, 101, 121 went along northern road to 125, 126 , 110
113 - spotted Paul and was happy was still in touch here. 112, then
BRAIN FART - into retirement home back out up to guildford, first right up to the end of dead end road... er wtf (was look at 113 not 124 this whole time blah once I realised had lost a good 6 spots)
Went round to 124 saw the people who I had to re catch reverse around park to 127 then 117 and down to 119 - caught quite a few in that process - under pass and around to 102 (just stayed on map). 118 almost rode past 120, then clear run 103, 116, 115, 114, 109 and home.
Google car got my coming to the event and also going home from event - whats the odds!
Oh and car started ok woot!
