orienteering race 34:00 [4] *** 3.5 km (9:43 / km) +90m 8:36 / km
(injured) shoes: VJ Integrator2015

Good Middle course on the last day of Sorlandsgaloppen2015 - mix of marshes, rock knobs and hardwood forest, ending on the ski slopes, with a bit of the JWOC relay course controls thrown in for fun.
Lost five minutes, always from not focusing on holding my bearing ;-( Good speed, however, and good route choices.
Surprising how the knee is not too bothersome while competing, but the combination of "double ibuprofen" and adrenalin helps keep the pain down. Just have to avoid jumping down or twisting the knee too much.

orienteering race 45:01 [4] **** 3.7 km (12:10 / km)
spiked:10/10c (injured) shoes: VJ Integrator2015

Finally buckled down and stayed focused for the entire race. Very enjoyable course, as a result ;-) 3rd place; ~2 min back.
Discussing strategy with T and L for Norwegian marsh running on the previous evening helped sort out my problems with the terrain.
Cold day (for a Vancouverite ;-),. Left knee still sore and swollen, but vitamin I kept the train rolling.

orienteering race 1:11:25 [4] 4.1 km (17:25 / km)
(injured) shoes: VJ Integrator2015

Another tough day in the Norwegian marshes - two major errors that cost me about 15 minutes. Did not use a robust strategy for navigating across the amorphous water-laden hillside that dominated the course. Felt the left knee while running but it did not really interfere, except in the slash trash. Wore the new O shoes for the first time - very comfortable and stable.
Ironically, had the fastest finish chute run-in time *again* for the M70 class. This could become my trademark - makes mistakes but finishes well ;-(

orienteering race 48:36 [4] *** 2.8 km (17:21 / km)
(injured) shoes: VJ Integrator

Sorlandsgaloppen day 2. Rained overnight, but we caught a relatively dry spell between rain squalls. Never got my head into the race. Left knee still wonky, but Vit I kept the hound at bay.

hiking 2:30:00 [3] 6.0 km (25:00 / km) +500m 17:39 / km
(injured) shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3_2015

Hiked to Gaustatoppen in Telemark, Norway with the Nipens, Loiuse and Marg. Beautiful weather, huge crowds on the trail. Left knee quite sore, especially on descent.
