Played the full game, it just wasn't meant to be. First of all, we aren't finishing properly. Their first goal was impressive but also complete luck, rattled off the post, there was nothing defensively we could have done to stop it. A mistake from one of our midfielders gave them a clear breakaway and they finished it. We got one back through some good composure of our forward, but the ref had it out for us. We got a red card and four yellow cards, which is insane for school soccer. Every single card happened without a foul. In every case, the other team tackled our team hard, guys sprawled on the ground and one of our guys leaving the field due to injury. But no calls, not once. Two probably penalties ignored by the ref, and several no-calls that easily could have left our players injured, especially one of our top players that had his ankles stepped on every 5 minutes. They wouldn't stop talking either, always telling us to stop diving and just take it, which is some stupid stuff from a team whose strategy is to lay you out on the ground to prevent attacks. Every single card was from our players talking to the ref. It wasn't disrespectful either. They were just saying words to the ref, asking him to protect our players so we don't end up with half of us injured. Both our captains got sent off, one with a red, which is even worse because the purpose of having captains is that they are (theoretically) the only players that talk to the ref to prevent having players surround a ref trying to talk to him. Meanwhile, the other team is trash-talking us and telling us to shut up if we make a peep, and they're complaining to the ref, and he just takes it and lets it happen.

Lost 2-1. Next game, this one isn't worth the frustration but it's hard not to be angry.
