Bit of a muggy day in Edinburgh, through Hermitage with Ali. The stands by the castle look pretty nice.

Open woodland with some marshes that really weren't that easy to read on a vague hillside. Seems like bearing and boost was the way to go, but I didn't get the memo and took off the pace in favor of reading more tightly. Wasn't too far off the top boys so nav was alright but was clearly slow. Most enjoyable map of the week for me.

Core's back now that we're back in Edinburgh and living in the flat, and back to mileage training this Monday starting with around 70(?) and building from there.

Was hyped up for this map as the so-called best terrain around, was pretty disappointed. There was a decent section on the map but we didn't go into it. To be fair, the first 7 controls were in some pretty sick woods, but then a long leg tossed us into some fell, we were herded along a long path, and more fell. For the hype, was pretty disappointed. It would have been a good middle area and we could've been tossed around the good technical bit. Was unbelievably scrappy, not happy with the tek, kept dropping seconds in the circle and passed the same guy several times, he must've thought I was a proper idiot.

Mostly pretty good, settled into some speed after a bit. Nav was easy and everything was super runnable, one mistake on route choice that lost me three minutes, unfortunate but not too fussed.

High focus on keeping my ankles safe, bonk avoidance, being technically sound, and checking how the 'ol bod is handling things. Nailed it 4/4 so good stuff not dying.

Crashed a bit during this and afterwards but after an hour or two and the next day feel very good so not too concerned.
