Just fully bonked. Eventful stuff, double gel day but was gagging for some water in the final third. Inhaled a fly coming out of 1 which ended up being a bother until at least 2, eventually it slipped my mind but something was I'm there, maybe coughed it out eventually. Not sure about some decisions, like going high to 7, which seems like a mistake now. But was moving well until 12, where I was on the line of cliffs and passed by the control circle and kept going. Was aware it should be nearby but couldn't quite make out what was going wrong. Ended up to the greenery to the north, went west and hit the veg boundary, and that was enough to figure it out and head back to 12. Several minutes gone though, had to mentally remind myself that lost time is lost time and not to push to catch up. Things kept going okay with bits of hesitation, like on 22, maybe 30-40 seconds lost and being too far right but seeing it, but then properly scuffed 23 and 24 in the deep shit and went too far right both times. Rest of the race was tough to race, and was in the right place for 29 but mildly confused and couldn't see it in the greenery, lost at least a minute from confusion. Happy to get it done, not a great time and while the mistakes were flowing it sounds like most people had a scrappy time. More M21 longs under my belt, lovely.

Fell apart a tiny bit on two short legs near the end but generally quite clean on legs and scrappy at times in the circle. Can pick at little things like hesitating into 13 making sure I was approaching the control and ending up on the barbed wire fence accidentally to 14 and just rolling with it, missed the crag a bit as well but nothing crazy. Not a bad run.

It's a lovely hot day on the Meadows, could've done with a lighter shirt but opted not to change. Right quad getting tight and putting up a bit of a fight, other leg muscles a bit sore as well. The paces are what they are. Looking forward to more weekend races.
