Running (Siwash trail Backtrack) 1:07:57 [4] 11.12 km (6:07 / km) +262m 5:28 / km
ahr:155 max:187

Another run out to siwash trail and back. Excellent run today, managed to cut 5 minutes off my previous time woth consideration to rest breaks (3 minutes rest this time) and it seemed to feel a little easier this time as well. First time running at par with Karen, which I'm rather proud of. Last hill up te logging road felt way better than before. Seeing good improvements in my running, hoping to keep it up.

Running hills (Blackcomb logging road) 47:51 [4] 7.32 km (6:32 / km) +330m 5:20 / km
ahr:159 max:182

Did my first hills specific training of the year on the blackcomb logging roads. 3 sets of down an up from the orange gate to the wood fence and back. Topographical difference between the 2 points is nearly spot on at 100m. Average lap was 13 min (7:30 uphill) with best being 12:01 (7:20 uphill). Both feel for the run and HR record show that my cardio is not an issue for hills, just my legs themselves. Deel good about it, looking forward to upping the laps for next time.

Climbing (Malamute) 2:00:00 [3]

Climbing with Brent at the Malamute wall in Squamish. Got in 2 pitches, one 10a crack and one 5.9 crack to slab. Followed on both pitches. Had to climb the slab section on the 5.9 as it was raining, making it extremely tricky. Makes me eager to get a device to top rope solo with, that way I can practice crack climbing at the Malamute whenever I please. Stoked!

Pete's Garage 1:15:00 [4]

More training at Pete's Garage. Of all the activities I do, I find this the most difficult to fit in. It targets every part of the body indiscriminately, meaning that everything is sore in the end, but it may not be targeting muscles in the best fashion for me, plus the nature of the exercises puts stress on old injuries in a way that my other sports don't. I will continue these since the outcome is super positive, but I need to be more vocal about the exercises that can potentially exascerbate old injuries.

Climbing (Nordic Rock) 2:30:00 [3]

Climbing at Nordic with Josh. Just getting some easy climbing in, with one lap each of Snooze you Lose. Josh hit Snooze you Lose on toprope and did a pretty good job of it, made the 3rd bolt with relatively little trouble, then fought to the top. He's hooked on it. My eyes keep trailing over to Quicksilver. Soon.

Running (Lost Lake runaround) 1:16:26 [4] 11.12 km (6:52 / km) +274m 6:07 / km
ahr:161 max:191

Random Run with Karen. Ran the Blackcomb logging roads down to Lost Lake then up Molly Hogan, Tommy Moore and Siwash Trail. Came back on the same route after a 7 minute stop at the Siwash Trail lookout. What was supposed to be a light recovery run quickly became more, but was a fantastic and lovely run. Need to do more hill training to prepare for 5 peaks, so this was a great start! Excited for more!

Climbing (Light trad climbing) 2:30:00 [3]

Light climbing at Nordic. 4 climbs total including snooze you lose, one swiss cheese climb, and 2 trad ascents on the main wall. First tine climbing with Brent, looks like that's going to pan out awesome.
