Orienteering 1:19:00 [3] 5.0 km (15:48 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw

England idlewild, I remember now why I don't enjoy this park, thorns every where. Not counting control 3 and 7, I did actually have a good run, my navigation and concentration were there and when I thought a control should be right in front of me, it was. I have no idea what I did coming out of 2 on to three, but I really screwed up, and seven was going good, or so I thought, and after I realized my mistake, I was not in the spot where I actually was.

Strength/Core 10:00 [3]

Stretching 15:00 [3]

Tried to stretch out my right ankle as much as I could. It felt more sore and stiff than I thought it would after 6 days off, we'll see how it behaves Monday.

Orienteering (EXTREME-O) 3:30:00 [3] 10.0 mi (21:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw

Started out with a lot of maps, and a timed water pan course cart course. Then more maps, avoiding vicious dogs and losing, then finding Nathan. Then the tree and rope bridge, kayaking then an even better rope bridge that we all got on and scared James out of his mind and the a"MAZE"ing race to finish.

Misc. 45:00 [3]

Football and frisbee in GA and on stops on the way home.

Orienteering race 1:04:24 [5] 5.9 km (10:55 / km) +160m 9:37 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw

After yesterday's race, my ankle hurt and was sore with tendinitis and wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go for today, but some taping and luck I did go and it felt good for the most part, there were some sharp pains pushing uphill. Another purposefull slow leg 1 and I honesty think 3 was misplaced to the east. 4 I took a little long route and five was weird. There was al least 1 reentrant that wasn't mapped that I'm used to being mapped in the tri-state and really threw me a curve ball but found the trail to the south and it was easy from there. 6 was a questionable route that I had to swim to get there, but after that I had good navigation. 7-9 was OK. 10 I changed my mind about 20 times and when I got there, the rootstock I was looking for wasn't there, but I got it, and then met up with a West Point runner and we raced from there to the finish. Another unmapped reentrant threw me off on 11, and 12 to finish was a blur. Somehow the same finish chute took me 4 seconds to clear. This run was a lot sloppier than yesterday.
