Not a great run, legs didnt feel like they were there - again. I was thinking this has to do with the types of runs I do during the week, but i'm now thinking it might be more to do with what I eat in the days before a race. Getting it figured out
Did not look at the map before starting, (which has been my routine), but this time it really threw me. I was expecting trails to be map with black dashes, but the sprint symbol was mostly used on this map. I was totally confused after entering the woods on 1, and being on a trail I couldnt see on the map. It took all the way to 2 to actually see trails on the map.
Had a bad route choice at the end of 4. Shouldve went straight after the road bend, but used the trail and didnt have a good exit point. I went too far and crossed several mtn bike trails (which were mapped with black dashes, and didnt see those either) before getting to 4.
Felt slow on 8 and 9.
Messy on 11. got to the trail above 11 ok, but didnt know where i was on the trail and relocated on the trail before attacking.
13 was tough, uphill
Went around on 17, wasnt sure if it was worth it, but going straight had some up and down and looked a little junky.
Caught Ryan Dunlap approaching 19. I knew I was in the right spot, but couldnt see the flag or the ruin it was on. Tried to get ahead of him the rest of the way
22, i stayed high to the left where Ryan went straight. Then I decided to go right instead of staying left around the building. Prolly shouldve stayed left
Got hung up in some green on 23, and 24 was a cool location. Had to climb a wall for 25
Finally caught Ryan at 28 when he had a mistake, but he beat me on the run into the finish
