| Ran all the way back to the cottage since our hike went a little bit over time, and the prime rib had to get out of the oven before it burnt to a crisp. Thankfully... we were speedy enough and our new year's dinner was perfect!!! |
 | hiking 45:00 [1] | |

| Took Dolly around on the trails/ had fun throwing snowballs at Eric and Molly and trying to push them into snowbanks. |
Sunday Dec 30 |
 | running 1:00:00 [3] | |
| |
| A night run around the trails with my dad. Really tough since the roads were slicked with ice... and the trails atleast had ruts in them from atv's... but it still was pretty difficult to actually stay in them and not step in any puddles. |

 | running intervals 30:00 [3] | |

| At first, I was just doing 1min hard, 1min rest... but then I found the perfect hill to run up so I ditched the first plan. It took about 55sec to get to the top of the hill running hard... and then 1:05 to get back down to the starting point. Can't remember how many times I ran it... but it must've been for a good 15min atleast. |

| spectacular run!!! was glad that i finally dragged my sorry butt out the door to get back into some training. kinda glad i took an unintentional break though since now my body as pretty much recovered from any aches and pains i had before. |
Wednesday Dec 19 |
 | running warm up/down 30:00 [2] | |
| |
| Running to the center, from the center to the workout site, 1.5min rests in between intervals, and then the run back home. |
 | running intervals 30:00 [4] | |
| |
| Ran from the corner of Byron, up the hill on Denbury, down Crossfield, and then left onto Fraser 7 times. (I'm convinced that Troy messed up the counting, and that we really did 8, but it was supposed to be 7 anyways). Now, I think that he has about 1.5ft on me, so he has a lot more legs than me, plus there was hardly any traction with the snow packed down on the road. Wasn't too far behind him... but it would've been really hard to try and keep up for all 7 intervals. I really liked how we got the hardest part over with at the beginning of the loop (the hill) and then the rest was either downhill, or just plain flat! Had a hard time concentrating on my form, and not asking myself what I was doing out here so early in the morning. |
Monday Dec 17 |
 | X-country skiing 1:00:00 [2] | |
| |
| Skiing around the Gats with the team. Heather had a video camera and was taping up for post-ski analysis, and i totally saw it coming, i actually envisioned it as i was skiing down the hill... but i fell right in front of the camera!! haha should be hilarious to watch! |
 | X-country skiing 20:00 [4] | |
| |
| Skied all the way back from just before the power lines to the parking lot without poles!! absolutely brutal going up the hills, but i think that i actually liked it better cause i always get so muddled up when i'm skiing with poles, so even though it was uber tough, and i probably won't be able to walk tomorrow, i actually really enjoyed it!! |
 | Note | |
| |
| pretty impressed with lafleur's attempt to groom the trails after getting so much snow! it was still pretty soft, and there was a bit of a lip down the middle of the parkway, but other than that it was pretty sick! |
Sunday Dec 16 |
 | cycling 25:00 [5] | |
| |
| quite an adventure trying to bike down the street with a foot of snow!! couldn't get any friction at all, even with all of the air out of my tires and riding on the rims!! only got 18 blocks before we gave up and went sledding instead. |

| Ran the practice this morning for the ski team... and there was almost a mutiny! :P Had a whole circuit set up, and then between each exercise, we ran stairs!!! Wahoo!!! :P Probably either should've made the circuit shorter, or less stairs, cause we only had enough time to get through the circuit once. Atleast now I know what to fix for next time... if they ever let me do another practice! :P :P |

Wednesday Dec 12 |
 | running warm up/down 30:00 [2] | |
| |
| Running around the block waiting for somebody... anybody... so show up. Then once somebody finally did (a grand total of 1) we ran to the workout site as a warmup and then back as a warmdown. |
 | running intervals 20:00 [5] | |
| |
| Ran intervals around a loop with the guy who actually showed. He's actually the leader of the group, so I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to keep up with him or not... but i did for most of it!!! Ran a ladder sequence... 1min hard, 30sec rest, 2min, 1min... etc. By the time we got all the way to 4min hard, I was a few meters behind, but on the way back down I was able to push it a little harder since the end was in sight. The snow made it soooo much harder though probably much better training... just really tiring!! |
 | running 10:00 [1] | |
| |
| Rest inbetween intervals. |
Tuesday Dec 11 |
 | running 32:12 [3] | |
| |
| Quick run through the snow... couldn't really see anything because of it though... and by the time we got home, we both probably looked like fluffy white snowmen!!! :P Tried to stay on the plowed roads, but even then it was like running on a treadmill! And the whole entire time, I had a craving for a turkey and cheese sandwich! Brutal!! So i made one when I got home... and it was yummy! :P:P |
Monday Dec 10 |
 | X-country skiing (skate) 1:25:00 [3] | |
| |
| Started out with a warm-up ski and then some drills (one-skate, double poling, and offset) for another 1/2hr. Ended with a ski with the group... except that i ended up all by myself for most of it! I was skiing behind James, Reme, and Paul's Dad, and I was just gonna turn around when they came back... but I got 1/2 way up Pink and there was still no sign of them so I just started heading back myself. Except, there was absolutely nobody around and I couldn't see a bloody thing, so i started getting scared and really booted it back to the parking lot. Almost felt like the race at North Bay!! |
Sunday Dec 9 |
 | X-country skiing (skate) 1:00:00 [3] | |
| |
| Ah, it's great to be alive! Super fast conditions and an equal amount of climb and cruising made for an excellent ski. Stayed off the parkway and toured the trails up to Pink Lake... and then got to come back down in the dark!!! That was my adventure of the day for sure!! :P |
Saturday Dec 8 |
 | X-country skiing long (skate) 2:30:00 [3] | |
| |
| Gorgeous day, gorgeous conditions, gorgeous everything!!! started at P9 (P10 was totally packed and there was no hope for getting a spot unless we parked in the handicap zone (why are there handicap parking spots at fortune anyways)) and then stayed on the #1 all the way to Champlain, and then part of the way to the fire tower. |

| good grief, i'm gonna be so ripped by the end of the season if i'm doing 3hrs of core a week!! warmed up on the bikes and then did a crazy relay that was really tough!!! then continued onto Heather's House of Pain!!! ahhhhhhhh... it definitely was painful. did 1min doing either sumthing with abs, or push-ups and then another minute of either skipping or biking. |

| abs were burning sooo much during the 15min warm-up which i guess is a good thing since that means i was working hard enuf on monday! |
 | running 5:00 [3] | |
| |
| running to the center in shorts (brrrrr) and then running home to have a super speedy dinner and shower to get to nepean on time for music night!!! |
Wednesday Dec 5 |
 | running 35:00 [1] | |
| |
| Did the modified river loop since i had to swing by Nepean to stuff my skis and poles in my locker, and then the path along the river didn't look that great since the dog-walkers haven't packed it down enough, so we just stayed on byron. |
 | X-country skiing 1:00:00 [2] | |
| |
| Did a bunch of drills with the whole team, and then went for a little ski working on one-poling mostly. bitter cold, and my hands and face absolutely froze going down the hills!!! |

Saturday Dec 1 |
 | X-country skiing (classic) 1:30:00 [2] | |
| |
| When most people were crawling into their nice warm beds, my dad and i hopped into the truck and went for a ski out in the middle of the gats in -20 degree weather! wahoo!!! Not a single other skier out and the conditions were gorgeous which was rather surprising. felt as if i could've just chugged along all night, but my face and fingers had turned into ice cubes and even making funny faces to try and unfreeze my face wasn't working too well, so it was a relief to get back. going down the giant hill at the end was quite an adventure since i'm not too graceful going down hills at the best of times; so at night just made things worse! managed to stay upright the whole way down, but my foot cramped up from snowplowing so much! :P:P |
