skating race 21:11 [5]6 km (3:32 / km)
First leg of the triathlon... pretty brutal. Hockey skates compared to those long blade thingymadooers... actually there's no comparison!! soooo much faster with the blades!!! I was skating so hard... but i still couldn't keep up!!! The quads were burning the whole time... so it was a relief to finally collapse onto the ice and do my best to tie up my shoes, throw my skates in my pack, and then start the run.
running race 28:08 [5]
Passed tons of people right at the beginning, and then a few more farther down the canal, which kinda made up for the lack of speed on the ice. Wind was brutal when we came out to Dows Lake, and then we could see the transition zone all the way across the Lake... but it was still 500m away!!!!!!!
X-country skiing (skate) 31:51 [3]6 km (5:18 / km)
With all of the snow that just plunked down last night... there was soo much powder to ski through that it was really slow!!! Double poled the really yucky parts which was alright... but i think that classicing would've been a bit faster. So relieved when I finally crossed the finish line!! just soo wonderful!!!

Friday Feb 1

running 19:00 [2]
Just down to Bushtuka and back to pick up my race kit for tomorrow. Running down Richmond sucked since i couldn't see a thing cause of all the snow that was blowing everywhere!!!! should be very interesting tomorrow....

Thursday Jan 31

running 1:25:00 [2]
Took advantage of the crusted over snow to get back down to the river, and it was fabulous! Wore my o-shoes which was an excellent idea since there was a lot of ice, and went all the way down to Booth St. and back. Took a few detours to make a snow angel, check out the railway, and a mysterious tire track that went from the path right off a ledge into the river... hmmm. rather ominous!
gorgeous day! gorgeous temperature! everything was just absolutely gorgeous! until it got dark and i couldn't see the path anymore so i kept falling into deep foot prints and going over on my ankle. still fun though!

Wednesday Jan 30

X-country skiing (skate) 2:00:00 [2]
Worked on technique, skied the potential course for the qualifying races, then some more technique while being video taped... which i always seem to totally wipe out in... joy! oh and finished off with a fun but blustery relay!!!
cycling (mountain) 50:00 [3]
A gorgeous day for biking since everything was covered in ice the tires didn't sink in at all!! a little slippery but that was only if you took the corners to hard. Went to all of my fav mountain biking spots but was confined to where people had walked cause that's where it was the most packed down. Hampton Park was more speed which was fun, but over by the Parkway was soo technical since the trails are so much narrower. Sooooo windy going down the streets... i was actually pedaling at one point, and not moving!!!!! absolutely ridiculous!!!

Tuesday Jan 29

Monday Jan 28

skating (hockey) 1:15:00 [4]
Such an intense game!!! actually a few intense games!!! went down to the rink at around 7ish and played a not so intense game with a bunch of people. Then walked my friend home and ran back to join in again. By then a few more people had left and I finally started really getting into the game! Did some mad deaking and dangling and even got a few goals!!! :P Kinda scary playing with guys who are all a foot taller than me... but i held my own on the ice and never got run over!!
cycling 45:00 [3]
Biked to my friends and back and had a little bit of fun going through Hampton Park. Biked on all my favourite trails that were packed down and it wasn't so bad. A little slippery going up the hills, but other than that it was great! Now I just gotta convince my dad to go to Kanata Lakes...
skating 1:00:00 [1]
Actually skated for about 2hrs, but it wasn't such high intensity... taught my friend who hadn't skated in 2yrs how to stop, skate backwards, and turn around... lots of fun!! no beaver tails though... still full from greek lunch!! mmm...
