SURVIVAL OF THE FITTESTTTTTTTT.
Trail day, but like... super duper wet, cold, and snowy. No break from the wind and everything got wet within the hour we left camp. Started to get a fever and wasn't feeling my best (Today was the leadership day for me and my partner, so I stayed towards the back to sweep)
Down Vista, up hogback, down up hogback again, down, up hunger mountain, down, then as soon as we reached little hunger.. BAM one of my classmates falls and twists his knee on the icy rocks.
35mph winds, top of a mountain, snow blowing sideways...
We decided to bail on the rest of the planned trip and camp at the base of Hunger mountain then hike out in the morning.
By this point I was so out of energy and was at the point of breaking my fever. Stripped into the dry clothes that I had, cuddled up in my damp outter layers and sleeping bag, and shivered until dinner was ready.
Every night that we camped out I didn't really sleep well because I'd keep having to wake up and blow my nose, but damn... this was the longest night I've experienced. Although... the storm sounded beautiful =)
