Hiking/Backpacking 50:00 [3]
Okay, okay, okay.
So we as orienteers tend to have the amazing opportunity to travel a lot. It gives us a great perspective on cultures, way of living, food, mannerisms, and life in general.
I think it's exciting for us all to walk into a new country and "see what happens"
What I absolutely hate tho, is seeing the "typical annoying american".
Before the hike, Lars and i went to the zurich zoo. It was lovely to see all of the animals out and playing in the snow.
We walked by the wolf enclosure and saw an american family with 2 20-something-year-olds who were howling at the animals.
I didn't say anything because younger siblings were doing it as well and I didn't want to make a scene.
Instead we walked away from them and headed for the tigers play pen.
It was nice and quiet but we couldn't see any movement, nonetheless we stayed for a little bit to see if anything would appear.... unfortunately one of the American guys came by, stood right next to me, shouted "Come out you pussy!!" And spat over the fence.
Lars pulled me away as I was freaking out at him.
I'm sorry, but if you're in another country, looking at animals that are typically not supposed to be in pens, and disrespect all of the above, then you might as well just stay at home.
I'd like to hear a couple people's input on whether or not they've experienced something like this before and if so, what you've done.
I don't know if that guy was riding with the flow of "Trump aggression", but whatever it was, I hope that the behavior gets nipped in the butt.
