Running 37:32 [3]

Really digging the whole "running with poles" exercise. Changed it up a bit today by hill bounding on the uphills, and slowing down the tempo on the downhills.

Note

Yesterday's 8 hour car ride to Boston and back proved to be worth the trip. Met with the sports medicine hip specialist down at New England baptist and within 10 minutes of the meeting he told me that he knew what the issue was.
Hip labral tear, causing inflammation to the iliopsoas and general wear to my femoral head.

After 9 years with this pain, this man was able to tell me in 20 minutes what the next steps were in order to fix the issue.

*incoming swearing*

WOOHOO!! I'M NOT FUCKING CRAZY!!! IT WASN'T JUST IN MY HEAD!!! YAY IT CAN BE FIXED!!! I'M NOT CRAZY I'M NOT CRAZY I'M NOT CRAZY!!!!

I don't think words can accurately describe how happy I am to finally get a grip on this whole situation. After years of hearing:
"Oh, you're not stretching enough",
"You just want to stay injured",
"You're too young to be in pain",
to being able to actually start the appropriate healing process is mind blowing... likeeee "Oh, laying down can be comfortable? I won't click when I run anymore? Lifting my legs up and over logs won't be a bitch?"

Lots of visits planned for the next 45 days, lets hope it stays in a progressive manner!

Running 1:11:46 [3]

Pole running on the trails.
Felt crummy before the run, but found a random pocket of energy which carried me through the training =)
