Running 48:30 [3] 6.6 mi (7:21 / mi) +50m 7:11 / mi

Water Haigh with Susan
Felt faster than it was, for both of us.

Running warm up/down 17:00 [2] 2.0 mi (8:30 / mi)

12 PM

Urban Orienteering race 47:32 [5] 6.5 mi (7:19 / mi) +10m 7:17 / mi

Manchester City Urban - 1st, 47:32

Decent run, knew leading time was just over 50 so had that in mind as time to beat. Ran well.
Nearly a disaster at the start as picked up C map instead of A but luckily thought the first control was a bit near (!) and realised straight away. Maybe lost 15s.
Lost time to #14 when should have took reverse of route to #15, i.e. down the Deansgate Road.
All the rest was good, though the last leg should have avoided the bridge, was in 2 minds but stuck to original plan despite thinking the road North was closer than initially thought.

Running warm up/down 5:30 [3] 0.7 mi (7:51 / mi)

9 AM

Running race 16:54 [5] 3.1 mi (5:27 / mi)

Stretford parkrun - 1st, 16.54

Took an absolute soaking.
Was a solo run from about 750m on.
Worked hard, felt OK, nothing more.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [2] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

12 PM

Urban Orienteering race 15:55 [5] 2.3 mi (6:55 / mi) +10m 6:50 / mi

Offerton sprint race #1 - 6th

Huge error to #6, blindly running on and on well past where control was, and also failing to turn right onto correct path. Basically ended up back at the start. Really stupid.
The rest of it was fine though should have gone up the steps after #1.
Legs struggling slightly, though after a big mistake like that probably not pushing full on anyway.
1 PM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

2 PM

Urban Orienteering race 13:55 [5] 2.2 mi (6:19 / mi)

Offerton sprint Race 2, 5th

Much better, no obvious errors, though made some legs too simple, especially the long leg when I (as I suspect most did) decided running across the bog wasn't worth the distance saved. Also went L to #18 when R was quicker I think. Speed wise, was decent.

12 PM

Running intervals 37:00 [5] 5.5 mi (6:44 / mi) +10m 6:41 / mi

Decided I needed to do a session, even though I knew I wasn't exactly fresh

On the Knavesmire
1 mile - 5.20 (2 mins)
0.5 mile - 2.33 (90s)
0.5 mile - 2.33 (90s)

Plan was to then do 4 x 400m off 60s, but seeing as I was lying on the ground shattered, that didn't happen. After a few mins light jogging, ran back to the office with 8 x 30s off 60s concentrating on turnover.

All in all, harder than it should have been but ground it out.

7 PM

Urban Orienteering 19:40 [4] 2.6 mi (7:34 / mi) +20m 7:23 / mi

Holt Park O - 3rd

Reasonably solid navigation in a tricky area but legs still not up to going flat out I think, mind certainly wasn't, just wanted to enjoy it.

Running 10:10 [3] 1.4 mi (7:16 / mi) +30m 6:49 / mi

Running race 19:48 [5] 2.85 mi (6:57 / mi) +150m 5:58 / mi

Danefield Relay leg 3 - 19.48 (-)

Still fairly tired from the weekend, pushed for the first mile, but it was a case of damage limitation from there, mainly on the flat and downhills, I was OK going uphill in a lower gear. Good fun, but not a great time. Was quite muddy in parts.

Becoming fairly clear the TomTom watch measures everything short, does it register a tracking point less frequently than a Garmin? I guess the faster you run the bigger effect this has? Might shop around for a new one though.
