Running 31:20 [3] 4.0 mi (7:50 / mi)

Tested out the route choices to #1 from yday

N - Scarborough Bridge, 0.31mi
S - Lendal Bridge, 0.25mi

So about 90m difference which equates to 22s at 6.30 per mile
6 PM

Running 46:30 [3] 6.0 mi (7:45 / mi) +50m 7:33 / mi

Just watching and timing at the track tonight, a session would have been silly

Running warm up/down 8:30 [3] 1.0 mi (8:30 / mi)

Urban Orienteering race 38:28 [5] 5.8 mi (6:38 / mi) +15m 6:35 / mi

York Urban, 1st

A better run than yesterday
Took the wrong route to #1 going over Scarborough bridge rather than turning round at the start
Otherwise good, spotted the key legs into #5 and #21 well in advance and planned accordingly
Small wobble to #11 while worked out it was under the bridge, to #15 while I worked out I could cross the small fence and to #18 while I went the long way round the bike shed.
Post race spotted a better route to #24 as well, but probably totalling no more than a minute all those things
Pace was good at the end at sub 6 miling once got out of the school, though if it was as warm as Wetherby wouldn't have managed it!

Running warm up/down 13:30 [2] 1.4 mi (9:39 / mi)

Running warm up/down 8:19 [3] 1.0 mi (8:19 / mi) +25m 7:43 / mi

Urban Orienteering 46:55 [5] 6.7 mi (7:00 / mi) +115m 6:39 / mi

Wetherby Urban - 2nd 46.55

All fine, except
#9 - should have turned R at second road crossing after 8 and took road/path down to railway, would have save climb, and thrashing through indistinct path which I followed L away from where I should have gone for a brief spell
#10 - gambled on going further W from 9 and in from the N, instead of above #1, not sure on that
#11 - Path down to railway in between crags certainly didn't seem to cross another path at 90 degrees, so I ended up above a crag. Then compounded things but not going straight over railway but S for a bit, making things more difficult and slower
#12 - Big error, didn't drop straight down but followed path W which became v rough and I couldn't find the gap S to path, eventually had to go N and into 12 from the NE. V.stupid.
#27 - Went to lower level, not sure how was meant to know fence was at higher level from map / CDs

Missed the gap before the wall to get into field above start on way to both #2 and #29

So, a bit scrappy in the middle, otherwise OK

9 AM

Running race 17:29 [5] 3.1 mi (5:38 / mi) +40m 5:25 / mi

Shipley Country parkrun - 1st, 17.28

Probably a better run than last week given how humid it was and the course, though similar, was a bit hillier
Was out in front from the start so had to tell myself to keep pushing, competition might have pushed me closer to the CR

Running warm up/down 12:24 [3] 1.5 mi (8:16 / mi) +20m 7:56 / mi

Orienteering 1:07:00 [3] 9.1 mi (7:22 / mi) +10m 7:20 / mi

To Clifton Lakeside down the river, then the orienteering, then back to station
Orienteering straightforward enough, heat was the main problem, didn't push too hard, though naturally seemed to go faster with the map in hand!
