Event: Karawara (Metro Series 1)
 

First Metro race of the season at Karawara. Started towards 26, then changed my mind and arrived at 25 about 10th in line. Everyone else took off towards 23 so not wanting to be in a train around the course I took off in a different direction. Unfortunately I didn't see that 24 was a good option form my direction and went to 21. Approaching it I realised I would have to leave the 3 controls in the SE, and then between 21 and 18 also saw that I would have to leave 3 more controls in the NE, uh-oh that's 8 of my 9 leaves gone already! Some time later I noticed that 6 and 8 were long 'in-and-outs', and then forgot that I had one leave to spare and went to both, so ended up with one control too many. Tricky course, well done Wayne.

Heavy cold.

Bassendean ride, still cold and windy.

Around the river, group ride, cold start and a strong headwind up the coast - contrast to yesterday.

Two rivers ride. Can't remember ever having to wait at the level crossing on Tydeman Rd, but it happened today, quite a long train too. Cold Southerly, but enjoyable ride up the coast with the wind.

Mt Henry/Swanbourne ride, windy and cool. The Other Side was only serving coffee in paper cups, and muffins in a paper bag because of the public holiday.
