Road cycling 2:11:25 [3] 51.2 km (2:34 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Very eventful ride today. Usual Friday ride around the river with PP, Richard and Chas, Noel joining us at East Fremantle.

On the path from Malcolm St alongside the Freeway a mountain bike (according to PP who was some way back, riding very dangerously down that narrow path) overtook me just before the underpass by cutting across the grass then jumping down the 1.5m wall at high speed and cutting the corner into the tunnel. Luckily, no commuters were coming the other way so carnage avoided.

Up the coast from Port Beach Richard and I were hammer and tongs pulling turns into a stiff Northerly. I think he was trying to drop me, but I wasn't having it. We dropped Noel, and PP and Chas took the Curtin Ave shortcut.

The Other Side was pretty crowded, but Nicole and Sandy had saved us a table. Muffin and coffee to usual standard.

At Shenton Park I took the road to avoid the maggie on the path, but the crafty bird was wise to that, and found a mate as well, with both swooping me several times for at least 3 hits on the helmet.

Finally dropped into Elite Racing Cycles to talk about my chain/cassette replacement, scheduled for Tuesday next.

Hard ride to Dad's at Bull Creek, wind from the WSW.

Back from Bull Creek, the wind more in my favour, but more across than behind.

Road cycling 2:07:10 [3] 48.5 km (2:37 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, breakfast at The Other Side. Avoided magpies in Shenton Park and Daglish by using the roads instead of the paths.

Road cycling 1:31:41 [3] 35.2 km (2:36 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Bassendean ride, took a diversion to have a look at Ashfield Flats, then Point Reserve, then another diversion later to the bike shop.

Around the river, muffin at The Daily. Got swooped for the second time by a magpie on the Stubbs Terrace path just before Shenton Park station. He totally ignored PP and two riders coming the other way, but gave me a hard whack on the helmet - must be because it's red. So now there are two aggressive birds to look out for, one either side of Shenton Park station.
