Very eventful ride today. Usual Friday ride around the river with PP, Richard and Chas, Noel joining us at East Fremantle.
On the path from Malcolm St alongside the Freeway a mountain bike (according to PP who was some way back, riding very dangerously down that narrow path) overtook me just before the underpass by cutting across the grass then jumping down the 1.5m wall at high speed and cutting the corner into the tunnel. Luckily, no commuters were coming the other way so carnage avoided.
Up the coast from Port Beach Richard and I were hammer and tongs pulling turns into a stiff Northerly. I think he was trying to drop me, but I wasn't having it. We dropped Noel, and PP and Chas took the Curtin Ave shortcut.
The Other Side was pretty crowded, but Nicole and Sandy had saved us a table. Muffin and coffee to usual standard.
At Shenton Park I took the road to avoid the maggie on the path, but the crafty bird was wise to that, and found a mate as well, with both swooping me several times for at least 3 hits on the helmet.
Finally dropped into Elite Racing Cycles to talk about my chain/cassette replacement, scheduled for Tuesday next.
