Duh! Fell into Shotrat's trap at the first without even realising. I wasn't concentrating hard enough because just treating the event as a casual wander around. Also made a hash of 5 and 6, but managed to break into a jog somewhere (4-5 I think) that kept going without any calf drama to the finish.

Orienteering race 55:42 [2] 4.5 km (12:23 / km)

H3 course at Peterdine, walking without a compass (I've only got RH thumbies and can't wear them with the splint). Mapping at 1 a bit suss - the boulder is next to a clearing, not a thicket. Walking pace and good visibility combined to make the rest of the course pretty easy, although had to divert 100m to a gate before 9 as I couldn't cross the taut fence with one arm out of action. Mid-field is good, probably would have been thereabouts if able to run and use the arm.
