Running 29:30 [3] 4.94 km (5:58 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Pursue 2

Hyde Park laps.

Note
(sick)

Using intermittent catheters has been going ok, getting more used to it but it's still unpleasant and inconvenient.

Saw the urologist last week, and TURP has been booked in for 22nd May, 10 days or so after I get back from NZ and Melbourne. Will be out of action with a catheter and bag strapped to my leg for 2-3 weeks afterwards, maybe more.

He organised a test and it appears I've got a UTI and now on antibiotics. Not uncommon I'm told with intermittent catheters.

Oh, and my Dad died last Tuesday (14th) aged 101, wasn't unexpected. He was quite happy after his 100th and at that time said he was looking forward to a few more years, but half-way through his 101st year he became more frail, and then really gave up wanting to go on.

Funeral was Tuesday just gone, lovely service, and some good friends there, as well as family and Dad's carers. Choked up a couple of times giving the eulogy, but got through it.

Orienteering race 43:59 [4] 7.06 km (6:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Pursue 2

Metro Score event at Mt Claremont. Picked a route to get 8 of the 30-pointers (2 were remote from my route, and remote from other controls). Completed the plan a bit early and thought I had time to get one more 10-pointer (no. 7) but got a bit confused when I got close, panicked and ran back without it. Turns out I had a minute to spare, so should have gone on another 20 metres and I would have seen it.

Orienteering race 17:15 [4] 1.5 km (11:30 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 190

NavDash Short course at Curtin Uni, gps 2.63km. 1 minute down by the 2nd control after taking a while to orient myself at the triangle and then failing to read the map in the circle at 2 (don't know why I carry a magnifier really as I never think to use it).

Bad route choices at 8-9, 9-10 and 10-11, then a 1-minute error at 12-13 where I went to 3 instead of 13. Rusty - hope I can get it together by next week.

Orienteering race 20:35 [4] 2.3 km (8:57 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 190

NavDash Long course at Curtin, gps 3.23km. Forgot to have a drink after finishing the Short, so struggled a bit on this mid-race. Much better nav, think I picked most of the route choices correctly and only one mistake, looking a bit early at 9, 30 seconds.

Road cycling 2:18:39 [3] 50.07 km (2:46 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Friday group ride, 20,000kms up for the Beemer!

Incidentally, we have sold the Bianchi & PP's old Alliance through Bike Exchange. First guy that enquired went out to the Yarra Valley and bought both bikes. Father-in-law's house likely to be sold soon, and we had nowhere else in Melbourne to keep them.
