West coast ride, with the wind until the coast, then against me the rest of the way except for the short section on Oceanic Drive. The magpie at the Boulevard was too busy chasing a couple of pink & greys to bother with me. I suppose if you're stupid enough to think a cyclist is a danger to your young, then you'd believe that a galah would raid your nest and steal your chicks.

Metro Score event at Samson. Forgot to start the watch at the start, remembered at least 500m in, after over-running my second control (no. 20). Cleared the Western half of the course, but headed back as I wasn't sure how much longer I had. 12 minutes it turned out, possibly could have got another 3 controls worth 80 points, but that would still have left me a long way behind people I should normally be up with. Route choice probably a factor - I've always been hopeless at any type of score event (rogaines included).
