Road cycling 2:01:55 [3] 50.59 km (2:25 / km)
ahr:113 max:164 shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, SW wind so mostly bad to Freo, then mostly v. good thereafter.

There's a detour around where the Loch St subway used to be (subway's not there because they've removed the whole bridge!) involving a bit of climb, some jerry-built path, and about 100m extra. Presumably when they rebuild the bridge the subway will be back, but looks like that will be months away.

Orienteering race 31:30 [4] 5.19 km (6:04 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Pursue 2

Metro Medium course at Bayswater. Made pre start decision to head West since I was pretty sure from previous events there would be at least one control in the SW corner. Turns out there were two. Seems some of the younger guys had no clue where the first one (6) would be, since they allowed me to lead them into it. 3 or 4 of them passed me on the next leg to 21 and several others passed up Garratt Rd to 12. Seemed like noone was going to the 3 controls in the NW corner, and I definitely wasn't. Maintained contact with a couple of guys I thought were probably on the Medium until 5, where one went South, the other North, but I'd already planned to go East across the vast open space to 27 and 26. Even though this was a 600m leg, I think it was the most efficient way to get 16 controls, and so it proved. Very tired at the finish and just got pipped by riley_mcfarlane for 5th place, with my two earlier rabbits coming in later.

Friday group ride around the river. We lost Noel at Port Beach when his crank fell off, but he managed to do a temporary fix. SW wind, so some assistance for part of the ride.
