Road cycling 2:15:13 [3] 50.16 km (2:42 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, no group today but then i thought I saw Noel going the opposite way on Curtin Ave. At the time I was struggling into a very strong headwind, and the traffic was heavy, so not sure if it was him, or if he noticed me.

Road cycling 1:41:14 [3] 37.21 km (2:43 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Bassendean, but first . . . tried out the Matagarup Bridge. Not very bike (or pram, wheelchair, scooter) friendly accessing it from Nelson Ave as it has a continuous high kerb with no road access points almost as far as Trinity College.

SWly, cool.

Note

Doc thinks yesterday's incident is related to the impact on my larynx/trachea area when I fell onto the termite mound at Edmund Rice college back in May, causing the airway to close when under stress from very intensive exercise. Have apptmt with an ENT specialist in a couple of weeks.

Orienteering race 17:47 [3] 1.9 km (9:22 / km)
shoes: X-Talon 190

WA Sprint Champs at Willetton SHS. Had to slow right down after 2 when I found it difficult to breathe. This got worse and I had to walk for a while after 4. Jogged through 5 to 10, then was able to run again, including fairly good speed from 11 to the finish. Left 2 in the wrong direction (probably due to the breathing problem, but corrected quickly. Possible route choice loss from 8-9, but I don't think there was much in it. Winner beat me by 3 mins, waiting for splits to see if there was anything more than the slowing down. According to my readout I won the first two splits and the second last, so seems that without the slowing I would have been close.

Using the Tomtom for the first time on a run, I set it to gym as the symbol is pretty similar to the one for run, and didn't get a trace as a result.

Will visit doc tomorrow, possible reason is EIB (exercise induced asthma), have had the same thing happen once or twice on the bike recently, doesn't last long and disappears after a few minutes. Hope it's not something more serious.
