Running (steady, roads and paths) 2:10:00 [3] 16.0 mi (8:07 / mi)

Chorlton Water Park, Sale Water Park, Turn Moss, Longford Park, Fletcher Moss, Didsbury Park, Fog Lane Park.

My last long run before my races. Started quite easy and didn't feel that comfortable but then got faster as I went along. Felt better and better towards the end. Thought I'd run 14 miles. Measured it on walk jog run and it turns out I ran 16 miles. :)

Blue skies and sunshine all the way. I enjoyed this run but I did spend a good amount of time thinking about the long runs I used to do in Richmond Park and Bushy Park. Long runs will never be the same as those days.

Really happy with how my training has gone over the last few months. I've trained sensibly, built up gradually and ran with a smile on my face wherever possible.

Running (fast, roads and paths) 40:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

South Manchester parkrun. New PB of 17.52!

Decided I needed to be sensible with this one and so put my normal trainers on instead of my racers, did a good warm up, then decided just to relax and take it easy and enjoy a nice run out on a Saturday morning.

So I did. I set off steady, giggled at all the people going off way too fast then giggled again as I went past them. Then I carried on steady, not pushing too hard, just feeling comfortable at a good pace, well within myself. Then as I came round the back section near the lake I looked at my watch and was a bit confused. The lake was just around the corner and my watch said 15 mins. I hit the lake and my watch said 16 something and I was like 'What's going on here?' I'd been taking it steady, thinking I was on for 19 something, and actually I was on for sub 18 so put in a bit of a sprint to make sure I dipped under 18.

Absolutely delighted with my time as I was running within myself for all but the last 100m. And more importantly, my legs feel great now so I did the right thing in holding back. No aches or pains.

And even more importantly than that, I went for breakfast after with Comrie, Chapala and Sam. Much fun as always and damn good sausages there! :)

Note

New ski jacket came through in the post. I love it! I actually love it! Spent all last winter looking for the right jacket and I finally found it. Awesome hat to go with it too.

Soon time to exorcise my chill factor demons, this time with good friends by my side. 4 of us getting unlimited passes for October. :)

Running (fast, roads and paths) 50:00 [3] 7.0 mi (7:09 / mi)

Ran quite hard tonight. Fastest 7 miles I've done in a long time. The sun was out and I enjoyed this run.

Lindy 1:00:00 [3]

Danced well tonight. I rode the wave of endorphins from my run all the way through both classes and the social dance and had a smile on my face throughout. Very tired now. :)

Climbing 45:00 [3]

Really enjoyed that. Felt absorbed in it and in the moment. I've lost some of the strength in my arms and fingers but it didn't seem to matter tonight as I was relaxed and focussed and my technique was good.
