Saturday Jul 14

running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
to and from track
running intervals 21:00 [4]
Ouch - something wrong here. These times barely qualify as speedwork. Hopefully its 'die down, spring back' 5 x 1000 meters 4:18, 4:12, 4:10, 4:09, 4:17

or could it be related to...

science is finally catching up with common sense, sadly

Friday Jul 13

running 35:00 [3]
from nusing home. middle section from chippewa to park gate was 10 min. so not moving as slow as it felt

Thursday Jul 12

biking 1:35:00 [3]
one last trip to see my father. legs getting tired of biking, need to get runnning.

Wednesday Jul 11

biking 1:30:00 [3]
to fathers house, just in town a couple of days, and back .
swimming 30:00 [3]
open water swim in creve couer lake, walk w/ my father afterwards

Tuesday Jul 10

biking 10:00 [3]
to the printer, standing up, for practice and becasue for some reason the saddle felt quite uncomfortable
C • Speedwork 6

Monday Jul 9

biking 30:00 [3]
to nursing home and shopping. new ortlieb saddle bags work great, release easily and carry in to store to fill with groceries, then just hook on when outside. and its a relief to ride w/o the pack in this weather
biking 1:00:00 [4]
partly to meeting, took cooling breaks on bus and metrolink.
then home form my father's on grants trail.

Sunday Jul 8

swimming race 9:45 [3]
swimming with concrete blocks tied to my wrists and ankles
biking race 32:30 [4]
the swim weighed on me, didnt feel in good rhythm until second half.
maybe need to look at longer events
running race 20:40 [4]
not bad, ocnsidering the hills. still felt a lot of that deadness in the thighs that I dont feel when I practice bike/run. Guess I'm not doing them intensely enough.
Note
Sprint triathlon: 21st overall, 1st in age group. I think a lot of fast people had other things to do. Just a few seconds slower than last year, but w/ faster transitions, so...as much as it frustrates me, I think it was a slower swim. Not the sub 1 hour race I wanted, but I'm grateful to have raced at all.
C • good job... 5
biking 38:00 [4]
good tempo ride back from fathers house along grants trail. something wrong here, if I had really gone all out this morning, could i do this ride? maybe its the cardiovascular speed limiter kicking me into longer endurance events. maybe i'm not really a 'sprinter' after all.
