20 minutes warmup in search of a good place to run at Bell Springs where I camped (specifically to have a tempo venue at hand)...but the trail I thought might do for my workout was too rocky, so I ran the first tempo interval uphill on a gravel road. felt very tired to start, and slow to the top, but it must have woken me up, because the next 2 intervals on the gravel main road felt very swift. funny how awful one can feel and then 5 minutes later do some of ones best running.

3 x T @ 6:00, 6:40, 6:40 w 2R
then 2 x 38s @ R w 2R but the legs had had enough

better than yesterday, got some decent practice in, but the fits and starts of bouldering are not for me, and I suck at real bouldering, the overhanging tricky stuff.

drove down to the amazing cliffs of Jackson Falls in So. Ill. A bit much driving for the payoff. desultory bouldering.

much better. though the trail was very rugged, it was enjoyable running along the cliffs and enormous boulders that I only trudged by on the way to another climb in the distant (10 years ago) past.
