Note

Made sense from a lot of point of views not to do the 800 yesterday, though not without regrets. Too much racing hard on banged up knees and hips, hoping to stay fresh for 1500. In retrospect, might have been better to do the 800, and not the 1500.

shoes: skechers go run 4 - 2

various warmups, most in kennedy forest in forest park, most enjoyable running in the tunnel of trees!

1500 race: 5:53. first place 60-64. Am capable of much better time I know, and no excuses, but the last few days have been weird mentally and physically, and it was a slow race.

w bh at moss field after the race. felt good to get some more running in and good company. he blew me away on the last 200!

shakeout the dead legs and fatigue from all the 'incidental' non-running. wet, medium long grass, flat at lindenwood park (note to self:next time - francis).
roughly 600 out and back.

12 min jog/drills

didn't want to overdo it, maybe strides later in day.

goofed around. nixed the 800 tt, or even the stout 800, in deference of sundays run. good to relax a little and hang out w the group.

did the 35 starting off slow behind two others, and swinging wide
in the last part of the curve to get past w hard acceleration. pretty sure I could run 33 maybe less- will keep trying!

improv nordic trek (indoors, wood floor) 40:00 [2]

sliding on wood floor, feet stay in contact all time. little or no knee or hip impact.

pretty much the same as elliptical in the gym maybe w a lesser strength component, but at least it doesnt require a trip to the gyms and involves forward movement and fresh morning air, w the windows open. time seems to go pretty fast, maybe I need to revisit this more often.
