Ran the first half mile of the Macklind Mile course - 2:57. Second half will be faster because of the big downhill, assuming there's anything left at that point.

Starts w a very steep 100m downhill which feels weird on the quads and hamstrings, then basically gradual uphill to the halfway mark, w one dip for a breather just before the end.

Getting used to the shoes and the pavement. Likely will not wear those shoes for the race as they feel clunky but good protection.

Ideally would like to do this every few days so race pace becomes an easy habit. Maybe possible because one 800 isn't really that much of a stress.
