Don Robinson SP - nice new park, very popular. I cannot do O meets anymore with zero training. The most basic things escaped me, like how to hold a map, how to estimate a distance, how to judge how many contours I had climbed....Boom, booom boom. It didn't help that the very first control was in the wrong re-entrant, and the map was hard to read - a lot of fussy rock symbols where one cliff continuous line would have been more accurate, and some major trail/roadways were missing at critical points... I know you are not supposed to pay attention to trails but when you are relying on one to catch you it can be bothersome.
The second half it started getting a lot easier, maybe because I had given up on trying, or the controls were just easier. It was called a 5k Orange course but i'm not sure what distinguished it from a Green course. Still, appreciative of all the work it takes to put this together, and what it would take for me to halfway orienteer again. logging guess at moving time, actual time included standing around, ambling, taking a picture and answering a call!

Beautiful misty morning. Fun running easy, not to see how slow but to see how easy.

call it a shot of spring, or nothing more than delayed strides after a run, but I was itching for more. Good to get used to heat too. 6 x 200 2R 44,45,45,43,43,41
