OLOU Billygoat in Horine Area of Jefferson Forest. Steep hills. Lots of Greenbriar. A typical OLOU Billygoat. Oh, and I had the winning time!

An interesting feature was the first split going immediately from the start and continuing for 3 controls before joining back together at 4. The vast majority of folks chose the "A" fork which definitely was considerably shorter (1300m), but involved dropping down into a very steep reentrant (2A) and finding a somewhat vague shallow reentrant (3A). I chose the much longer (1800m) but easier "B" fork.

A pair of high school kids out-sprinted me from the start and beat me to 1B, but they missed 2B by a little and I got in ahead of them. From that point on, I was turning on the SI controls. Several "B" fork people stayed in and out of sight behind me for the next few legs, but I never saw any of the "A" folks again. Ben Hart almost caught me going up the steep hill to number 7. After that, all of the "B" folks had dropped out of sight too. The only other person I saw after that was near 14, and I think he had taken a wrong turn looking for 11.
