MVOC - New map of Camp Hugh Taylor Birch (Tecumseh Council BSA), courses set by Matt Bond. It was a very hot and humid day and running across fallow agricultural fields in the full scorch of direct sunlight was brutal. Fighting through the high weeds across hundreds of meters of fields in direct sun, it became a very slow slog at points. Between the fields, the woods tended to be very thick - anything mapped with any shade of green was at least medium green difficulty. I honestly don't think I have ever been so exhausted after finishing, even after having limped in at the end of 6, 12 or 24 hour rogaines. In retrospect, taking a hydration pack would have been a VERY good idea.

The map was generally decent, although a few things took getting used-to, like the 2 foot (!!!) contours, which made the flattish camp look mountainous, and the fact that many outhouses and other small structures were not mapped.

The map borders the north edge of John Bryan State Park, and the rugged Clifton Gorge area, so there may be potential for future map expansion.
