Chilly and rainy. Got in the first couple miles under dry conditions, but then light rain and wind. I was not looking forward to leaving the shelter of the woods and crossing Mary's field to the airstrip. True to form, as I hit the edge of the tees, the skies ahead opened up and I couldn't even see the far side of the field. It wasn't quite "freezing rain in the face of a hurricane west wind", but it was cold, wet, and windy, and it took a couple verses of "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" to get me across (about half a mile of windswept open field). Slowing down to climb over the gate was the worst, then it let up as I headed back up the east side of the airrstrip.
