walking 1:30:00 [1] *

Dear Creek: checking controls and putting out the last few, observing class participants, cleaning up from program.

trail running 10:00 [3]

Deer Creek.

walking 3:00:00 [1] 5.0 mi (36:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Accel

Buckeye Trail, Scioto State Forest. Painting blazes on my section of the trail. Covered about 2/3 of the section before dark. The trail is in excellent condition, so following it has never been a problem, but the blazes haven't been freshened in several years, so many were pretty faded and a few blazed trees had died and shed bark or fallen. So it was way past due for refreshing.

Trail and terrain at Deer Creek. Note: stupid human sighting. As I was going up the park road, watched a huge RV drive in. Crawling around on the dashboard right up against the windshield was a small child, probably about two years old. No it wasn't some stuffed dummy; it was a real child. Wish I had a badge and a ticket book! I'm not a fan of over-zealous seatbelt enforcement on adults, but unrestrained kids are a whole 'nother story.

trail running 37:00 [3] 3.6 mi (10:17 / mi)

Rolling Hills Trail - Lodge to Campground and return. Time and distance estimated. Supposedly 2 miles each way but it seemed shorter. The battery on my forerunner quit just before the campground, so I should be able to get a good estimate of distance and time once I get it on the charger. Time and distance estimates now improved based on watch data, although they are still an imperfect estimate.

trail running 47:30 [3] 5.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: NB Minimus

Miami Natural Areas. A little over halfway through, caught my toe on a stump and did an immediate splat on the trail. Landed pretty hard, and a bit slow to get up, but after I got moving again everything seemed to work. As of a few hours later, nothing seems to hurt too much, so we shall see ...
