Checking control sites at Miami Univ Western Woods. A very few minor map updates.

Hueston Woods - 5 control "walk and talk" with Skyler and Lissie. 18 students present for O' training. Brennan, Nathan, Jamie, and Alex also led walk and talks.

Lissie seemed really out of it today - not her usual bubbly self. It wasn't until afterwards that I asked Skyler about it, and found out that her sister had passed away on Tuesday and the funeral is tomorrow. So sorry to hear it - wish I had known soon enough to say something to Lissie.

trail running 5:00 [5] *

to van and back to grab the air horn.

After the walk and talk, kids did a capture-the-flag game. Good running in the terrain.

trail running 4:00 [2]

easy terrain run with Luke leading the group back to the parking lot.

Bill Yeck Park - red course set by Matt "King of Pain" Bond. Fun but hilly and thick with honeysuckle. 6 wet-foot stream crossings, 4 of them in the first 5 controls.

The giant tree at the top of the cliff is still standing, although it appears to be more than 50 percent undercut. And yes Matt put his traditional "rootstock beneath" control under it!
