Georgia Nav Cup Day 2 at Don Carter SP.
Just before control 1, ran into a viciously thorny Georgia "wait-a-minute" vine that tried to make my ear look like Van Gogh's. It took about 30 seconds to free myself from its embrace, which drew blood from calf and hand, as well as an ample stream from my ear dripping down my neck. This distraction probably contributed to a solid two minute error on number 2, where I ran down the wrong spur, but did manage a pretty quick and confident recovery. A costly mistake that unfortunately resulted in Mintore catching me late in the course. A few drops of blood smeared on the map didn't exactly help my concentration going to 3, but after that I settled back down and from there out had a fairly clean run, just physically slow on a course that seemed like it had a whole lot more climb than the previous day's
All in all, not a bad run, overall this was a pretty good 2-day performance.
