Disappointing run at the Paris to Ancaster bike race.

I'd say the start was the coldest race I've ever started in on with temps around 0 but strong winds making it feel much colder.

We started nicely but things slowed down after the first 15-20km.

I vividly remember doing 8-10km/hr on some perfectly flat rail-trail into horrendous wind. There were people around me walking because the going into the wind was so slow.

To top it off, I caught my chain in a funny way and somehow wrapped it around the entire front sprocket and bound it up inside the front derailler. There was a moment there where I thought I was done, but broke the chain and took a link out to get us back up and running again. But the whole episode took us down for 23 minutes.

Needless to say - I'd really like another crack at this one next year. I believe I could have easily broken 4 hours this year without mechanical and with moving at a good pace.
