Epic run with Scotty from Corin Dam up stockyard spur, south on mt Franklin fire trail to cotter valley, east to orroral valley then up to Corin via smokers trail and down to road on walking trail.
First climb was big, 700m on not many km and quite overgrown but once onto the ridge it was beautiful pen snowgum forest with big rocky knolls.
Stopped for a quick look at pryors hut and arboretum then got into a hood rythm along the undulating fire trail.
First 2.30hrs went very quickly and filled up with water at cotter at about 2.40.
Next gradual uphill climb of a few hundred m was hard work but got a bit of a second wind going past orroral valley.
The climb up to Corin was very steep to start with and we came within meters of being run over by a reversing bulldozer.
The second half of the climb flattened out for a bit before the last steep pinch. Very glad to get to the walking track which meant only a few km to go downthehill.
Scotty rode his bike down the hill to get the car while idozed in the sun. Very pleased withthis run, felt much better than last week and cod have kept going if needed. Dunno if I would have like to go back for another 50 though...
