Running 2:49:00 [3] 32.0 km (5:17 / km)
Camping down at jervis bay for the weekend so with 38 forecast headed out just before 6am to do a repeat of the last long run I did down here a few months ago.
Was a bit better prepared this time with a backpack with over 2l of water and plenty of gels. Didn't feel to good starting out as it was already over 20 deg and was a bit concerned how I'd go. After the first 30 min I was drenched in sweat and didn't even really enjoy the rock hopping along the rock platforms.
Note for Robbie that I wore the kinavaras and they were pretty grippy on the rocks but it was very gritty sandstone and I don't reckon they'd grip wet granite but then pretty much nothing but full metal spikes would.
Kept plugging away drinking a lot and the cool breeze up on the heath by the cliff tops refreshed me a bit. I also included the extra few km out to the st georges head which was a bit of a dissapointing slog through hilly sand dunes instead of running along the top of the ridge to take in the views and the breeze.
Anyway finished feeling a lot better than last time and managed to run the last few km strongly again.
Very refreshing swim in the ocean afterwards.
