Mountain Biking 5:20:00 [3]

Husky100 mtb race. Good fun race with a mix of nice singletrack fast firetrail and some very eroded overgrown firetrail. A lot of muddy puddles which made it tricky. Finished 15th and was pretty happy given I had a few probs with the bike. Back tyre had a slow leak and stopped to pump it up 3 times plus a stick damaged the fork which meant I had to lock it out for the last 70k.
The end of the course was a bit confusing where we were directed back out onto the course when it wasn't shown like that on the course map, I wasn't sure about this and came back to check after a min or so which lost more time. Apparently there was a few people ccomplaining that not everyone did this loop.

Long run after work, started with Andy and we did a loop of the pinnacle and then up painter before going back past his place where I had a drink and a gel.

From there I headed up black mtn trying to focus on good form and running at a solid pace. By this stage was starting to feel good and feet weren't bothering me much, r was a bit sore but bearable. Had a drink at top and headed back towards Aranda with it starting to get pretty dark. I was really feeling good by this stage (about 2hrs) and once in the streets ran a loop through aranda Macquarie and cook including about 6k at a faster tempo, about 4.10pace. Close to home was surprised by grant getting out of the car. I assumed he was on some type of sinister operation for the police but it turned out I had busted him on his own sinister operation 18.30 training. Anyway I ran to the top of painter with grant trying to use his light in the dark and then we walked down.

Pretty pleased with how the run went, feet a big improvement on last week esp the left which I have done more work on which is promising. Wouldn't say the issue was gone but at least what I am doing seems to be managing it.

Jog into work. Feeling tired from yesterday's effort at street o.

Feet sore on L to start but got better. Have got a barrage of exercises to do from Cathy so fingers crossed they get it feeling better.

Street O at kaleen, thrashed by Marty today. We started out on similar routes but skipped different controls about 1/3 of the way in. They were probably almost identical in length but I ran past 3 controls so added a bit of unnecessary length which meant Marty beat me by even more than normal.

Anyway good hard run, almost 10k of hard running plus some warm up and down.
