Running (Metrogaine) 5:00:00 [3] 54.0 km (5:33 / km)

Metrogaine in gunghalin. Didn't think I was up for getting them all but Paul Marty and Craney all did so planned a route with the option to clean up the lie pointers if there was time.

Starts conservatively and just cruised along hitting controls and finding a few new places I hadn't been. After about 3hrs got to point where I had to commit to dropping a control but was going well so got the extra control and from then on realised I'd have time to get them all.

Once I'd decided this I kept pushing along to get it over with and get back for some lunch.

Tested out my Alice shoes which gave me a small blister but otherwise were good. Thought it was a genius move early on to have gortex shoes on with all the water lying around but then had to cross a decent creek and my shoes were soaked for the rest of the time. Marty killed me by 35 min but pretty happy e my effort.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Night orienteering on Aranda hill and black mtn organised by Tomas. I'd been feeling crap the last few days but decided to get out anyway. Took it pretty easy but that didn't stop me making a cracker 180 on the 3rd control when I went through some green, got the map upside down and was diligently orientations the map to the south, luckily picked it up when I hit the power line - again.

Running 30:00 [3]

Feeling crap but my bike was at work so had to run in. Went to ride home and realised I'd forgotten my lights so had to run home as well, which was a plod.

Running 35:00 [3]

Run home from work - it was freezing and I'd only brought shorts and a long sleeve top so hammered right from the start, over gossan and Aranda hill to make it a respectable length.
