Orienteering 1:25:00 [3]

Jim Sawkins classic
Mass start race, I went out a bit excitedly for a 14k course but once we hit the first hill I was back in the pack. Got on a loop with Craney, Marty and Grant who all went high coming into the next control and I got a bit of a lead but it wasn't long till Craney and Marty came back past me up the next hill.
I was struggling so just kept plugging away by myself until I made a big mistake in the circle on the long leg starting the second loop. Grant appeared to show me the control and we settled in for a battle.
Took different routes to the next one but got there at same time and then cruised the next few controls. I took a different route on the first leg of the last loop and got a little lead but grant was back on me soon and then he got a little lead when I didn't see a control I was standing almost next to.
At the third last we made a little mistake going to the wrong termite mound, we both ran to different ones but grant was right and he put his foot down. I chased with what I had left but even a big surge at the end didn't make much difference. Good hard hit out and good fun

Mtb at majura, few new tracks which was fun, stuck to the old school twistytracksas much as possible.

HFW the shortest way. What's become of me logging a 10min run!! Had planned to do longer but decided to go climbing so no time.
On the plus side finallyhave kicked the cold thanks to the antibiotics!

Marty dragged me out for an evening lap of aranda hill and aranda. Luckily his light went out halfway round so I could control the pace.
