Orienteering 50:00 [3]

NOL sprint middle at aranda. Not often a NOL event is within walking distance of home so a good chunk of local knowledge even if I hadn't really ever orienteeref through the actual area where the race was.
Took a while to loosen up from yesterday and even once I started could feel o was struggling physically but was pretty good technically. Had a good battle on the more technical last loop and pretty satisfied to finish 5th. Couldn't have done any better in either race without being a lot fitter.

Orienteering 2:40:00 [3]

Ultra long NOL started conservatively and Simon and Brodie disappeared into distance on the long 4th leg and I got away from others. From here on it was a long solo slog. Felt ok for first two loops with one silly 1-2min mistake but got really sore in my R foot and then left hip and after that my left quad started feeling a bit numb with no power. This meant it was even more of a slog and did another lazy mistake losing a few min but no real consequence. Saw Brodie at the phi loop or whatever it's called on the last loop but he was a whole side ahead and I was trundling so no chance to catch him even though he was suffering too. Some nice route choice legs and fun area but seemed easier than before maybe because of the low speed. Going to be a struggle tomorrow! Ended up 4th after Craney pulled the plug.

Quick lunch run on gossan hill, 4 short gossan hill intervals (2.5min each) trying to loosen up a bit and get going again after the week skiing. Not moving too well, need to do some serious flexibility work!
