Long black mtn loop a with Andy Gareth and Ben. Discussing the merits of cricket Australia’s tv rights deal and it’s possible impact on the popularity of the game. Finished off with just over 20min tempo. Left leg still a bit stiff and it working properly.

Climbing out at mt coree with JP, lead a climb for the first time in about 20 years and then did a top rope 18 which cooked me, fell a lot of times but got up in the end.

Morning run on the pinnacle, super stiff on my left side and a bit of a hobble for the first few lm as a result. Left quad and itb was a bit numb again so need to get back into some serious stretching. Improved a bit towards the end when I loosened up a bit.

Short run before it got dark, about 25min tempo around the streets but pretty stiff in my left leg mostly coming from my hip I think.

Road bike 3:10:00 [3]

Longish ride on the Terra out through Uriarra crossing, mtn view rd, horseshoe rd, wallaroo rd and back down through Belconnen. Wasn’t too sure about the gravel cut through on horseshoe rd (had a few no through rd signs but pretty sure it’s a public rd). Anyway didn’t get shot at and it was a nice bit of road to ride and a new spot to cross the Murrumbidgee. Listened to the Inside Running podcast on the ride which was the first time I’ve ever trained with headphones and loved it. Time ticked by nicely although probably looked like an idiot a few times when I was pissing myself laughing.

Lunchtime tempo, 1k warmup, 10k undulating tempo on the bush tracks and then 500m jog warm down. Felt like hard work and couldn’t get under 4min k for most of it, maybe heavy legs from yesterday’s ride.

Quick ride after work on the tuned up mtb. Had a new 1x groupset and the rear spokes tightened up and felt super responsive as a result. Also trying an oval chainring which seemed to suit my crappy riding style where I brake too much and am constantly accelerating as a result.
