Orienteering race (Colour Series) 1:35:35 [3] 7.76 km (12:19 / km)
shoes: VJ Integrators

Not particularly happy with that race, my navigation was a tad dodgy and it was so rough underfoot that running wasn't an option for most of it if you wished to finish with both ankles intact. The first few legs were alright, but slow, I then lost 5 mins number 4 cos I didn't know what the control description was (whoops), once I figured out it was a cave I realised I needed to be in the bottom of the ravine not at the top. Was just about getting into the rhythm again but I got pulled off line coming out of the green and lost 3 mins correcting my mistake. I got overtaken by Colin H on this leg and spent the next few trying to get ahead of him again, which lead to a 4 min mistake at 11 as I went round the wrong hill. To top it off I even managed to get the taped route to the final control wrong, not a good day in the office!

Running 28:33 [3] 5.04 km (5:40 / km)
ahr:163 max:185 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Legs felt pretty tight after the last 2 days so a wee leg loosener was needed, started off pretty slow but felt good by the end

Strength and Conditioning (Parkfit) 1:00:00 [3] 2.7 km (22:13 / km)
ahr:115 max:172 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Played a game of snakes and ladders tonight so it was a bit hit and miss for toughness, it could have been harder but I quite enjoyed the level we were at, plus the girls beat the boys which is always great :)

Running warm up/down 15:43 [2] 2.57 km (6:07 / km)
ahr:173 max:223 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Warming up, running to and from the start collecting kit that had been forgotten such as the start and the mini printer. HR monitor must have slipped as I'm pretty sure I would have been in a bit of pain had it hit 223!

Orienteering 29:07 [3] 2.77 km (10:31 / km)
ahr:162 max:182 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Working on control flow, not so good at the start, the circles were so close together my eye was drawn to number 14 instead of number 2 so lost a bit of time there, the rest went smoothly enough although I was tingly for hours afterwards from all the nettles on a particularly stupid route choice.

Running warm up/down 13:23 [3] 2.15 km (6:13 / km)

Running 20:05 [3] 3.75 km (5:21 / km)
ahr:162 max:193 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

Pre-parkfit run to loosen off the legs after yesterday's session, it was really hot so it was a little slower than I would have liked, but I felt pretty comfortable so probably could have pushed a little harder. Also was a tad late leaving the house so it was a tad short too.

Strength and Conditioning (Parkfit) 1:00:00 [3] 3.57 km (16:48 / km)
ahr:126 max:182 shoes: Saucony Peregrines

A good tough session tonight, probably cos Susan was there and James wanted revenge. To begin with I was hating it but by the end I was loving it, lots of running, plus a few rugby players running by made us all push a little harder. I also really enjoyed the pain Susan was in ;) I hope we have more like that it was great!

Strength and Conditioning (Parkfit) 1:00:00 [3] 3.0 km (20:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Peregrines

I suspect I have to thank Susan for tonights tough session since shes been goading the instructors and then not turning up to see what happens!! Lots of burpees and pressups so arms were like jelly, plus a load of running, squats and lunges, walking maybe a challenge tomorrow, thanks Suz....
