Adventure Bike (gravel, sand, grass, pave) 1:39:34 [3] 20.95 mi (12.6 mph)
East of Ocala
Finally the Florida weather we were looking for.....heat, sun and low winds! I don't want to go home!!!!!!
This was part of the Big Scrub Buzz route we rode last year, with a bit more of the levee thrown in for fun. Mostly gravel with some loose sand, grass and a wee bit of pavement at the beginning/end.
Highlights included two owls hooting back and forth at each other in the woods and one flying over my head to presumably go check out the other one (in broad daylight), riding through the smoky remains of a bush fire (not sure if it was a controlled burn left unattended or something accidental almost burned out) and a pickup up passing us at relatively low speed with the distinct odour of that substance that will be legal to smoke in Canada on July 1. Also it was good to find our car still in one piece after we returned to it (we'd parked it on the side of the road).
Finished the ride with a big grin on my face.....good riding!
