Note

All winter, we've been planning go somewhere for this long weekend (within 5-6 hours drive) where the weather is a bit milder and the hills and gravel roads have our names on them. We had some good routes in southern Ohio lined up, but the weather just wasn't that much better than here......and with more rain. The local riders down there warned that the water crossings were, well, full of water, with the rain (and several of the routes included water crossings). So about Thursday morning, we threw in the towel on that idea and decided to just do whatever for the weekend......longer times at the gym, maybe venture out on some local gravel if we can find a route without ice, time in the hot tub, etc. I was thinking of heading up into MI on Sunday for some skiing.
Then out of the blue during my noon hour bootcamp on Thursday, my son texted me and said his reading week plans with his dad had fallen through, and he was thinking of coming down for a few days. With his girlfriend. Well, plans, schmans! That's an awesome way to spend Family Day Weekend.

Only thing is, the drain pipe for the kitchen sink/dishwasher gave up the ghost over a week ago, and the plumber can't come and replace it until next week, so we're washing dishes in the laundry tub.....in the little rubbermaid container we use for washing dishes when car camping. Washing dishes for 2 isn't too bad, but I will gladly wash dishes for 4 in this case, as this is a special occasion :)
