Cyclocross race 42:00 [5] 12.4 km (17.7 kph)
Local "underground" CX race. I got my church duties done just in time to pre-ride the course, then rush to line up. I think there were more women here than at a MI TailWinds race! Awesome course with some technical turns and off camber stuff and some more really tight turns (tripod!). A good straightaway section through the woods, a lap around the track behind the arena, a rocky singletrack through the woods, some trees, some barriers, a steep gravel hill and and a twisty gravel trail through the woods. Not bad for the flatest county in Ontario!
I wiped out on the twisty gravel trail in the woods and laying there to collect my thoughts seemed like a good idea. But I jumped up and carried on. At the next barrier it was obvious that my left knee had gotten beat up in the wipe out (wobble!). Suck it up and ride on! Nothing some Polysporin won't fix.
Finished mid-pack and then watched the fast boyz (and Vanessa the superstar CX rider from Windsor) on the course.
